Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, fiends, and malevolent powers increasing in power within the city.
Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the first table of characters who will separate from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might look unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to head next after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan knows the northern area and warns that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their position as key figures in the powerful family could enable the group enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer betrayed the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in search of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
Based on episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the warrior group will be absent the following episode, leaving the rest of the participants to assemble the Questers and Strategists parties.
Fans can expect discovering which characters will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
