AC Shadows Unveils Unexpected AoT Crossover for Holiday Season
In a surprising partnership that defies usual expectations, the game developer has announced an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Disclosed
According to the formal announcement, "An unusual meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where hints of banned ceremonies and terrifying metamorphoses echo through the darkness." The narrative presents a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who charges the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a clandestine group.
The questline concentrates on "strange experiments and a monstrous enemy" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Transformations
The teaser highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview concludes with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Features
Players who finish the quest will obtain an exclusive katana alongside multiple items hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Addition
This patch also brings the game's third complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive techniques: Naoe debuts a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
